Date JULY 27 2022
Despite Owen Robinson going into the final as chip leader of the PokerStars UK Ireland Poker Tour Nottingham main event, it was Londoner Andrew Couldridge who came through as the champion at the end of the day. He takes home £80,000 and an entry into the UKIPT ’s season finale tournament, the £5,250 buy-in European Poker Tour London event. Couldridge started the day fourth in chips but made his way through the ranks, knocking Robinson out in the meantime, to eventually come heads up with Oliver Schaffmann. The first two hands went to Schaffmann, but it was all over on the third when Couldridge’s Q 4 beat Schaffmann’s pocket nines when a queen came on the turn and on the river. The event was the second largest major tournament to be held in the UK with a total of 650 players creating a prize pool of £325,000. The final results and payouts were: First Andrew Couldridge £80,000 Second Oliver Schaffmann £46,700 Third Andros Spyrou £30,000 Fourth Owen Robinson £21,400 Fifth Graham Giles £16,500 Sixth Piotr Majewski £13,200 Seventh Nicholas Gavriel £9,900 Eighth Gareth Walker £7,600 The next stop on the Tour is the €1000 + €100 buy-in event at the Gleneagles Hotel in Killarney, Ireland. The main event has a €250,000 guarantee and will run from Jun. 24-27. Players can qualify for as little as €10 or 500 FPPs from today at PokerStars.com . Photos courtesy of PokerStars blog.
