In the first 24 hours that fans could say who they wanted to be in the exclusive 27-person field, more than 40,000 votes had been cast.“In just 24 hours, the poker community has spoken loud and clearly, and they should be applauded for their passion,” said Ty Stewart, the vice president for Harrah’s Interactive Entertainment. “We really love the idea of turning the fans into executive producers, and they are taking the challenge head on and making sure their voices are heard.”The WSOP announced that it would be bringing back its prestigious Tournament of Champions event earlier this week.While voting will remain open until June 15, the WSOP is allowing players to look at a constantly-updating list of the 50 players who lead the vote in random order. The top 20 vote-getters at the end of the voting will be awarded seats into the televised freeroll, along with Mike Matusow, Annie Duke, Mike Sexton, Joe Cada, and Barry Shulman, who were awarded automatic entries for their previous TOC wins or their current title as reigning WSOP or WSOPE champ.Two spots are reserved as sponsor exemptions, and they will be given out to players who win Harrah’s qualifiers leading up to the event.As of 1:30 p.m. on March 17, the 50 players who currently lead the tally are as follows (in random order):All living WSOP -bracelet holders are eligible.
