The PokerStars European Poker Tour has hosted a stop in Germany three times in previous seasons. Those first three stops took place in Dortmund and attracted fields of 493 players in 2007, 411 players in 2008, and 667 players in 2009. This year, the Germany stop has moved to the world-class city of Berlin, and it will feature a €5,000 no-limit hold’em main event that begins on Tuesday, Mar. 2 and runs through Sunday, Mar. 7. There will also be a €10,000 high-roller no-limit hold’em event hosted at EPT Berlin that will run on Mar. 6 and 7. Last year, the Germany stop was won by Berliner and Team PokerStars pro Sandra Naujoks , who defeated 666 opponents to win the tournament. She took home €917,000 in prize money and became the second-ever female EPT champion, as well as the fifth player to win a EPT title in their native country. Players will begin with 30,000 in chips in the EPT Berlin no-limit hold’em main event in 2010 and blinds begin at 50-100. Levels will be 60 minutes long on day 1 and then they will increase to 75 minutes in length thereafter. The final table will crown a champion on Sunday, Mar. 7. You can follow along with all of the action from EPT Berlin on the PokerStars blog feed daily this week, and this weekend you can watch everything from the final two days of the event on the EPT Live video feed.
