Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure Begins Tuesday

For the seventh year in a row, all eyes in the world of poker will turn to the Caribbean to start 2010. The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event begins on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at noon EST , and Card Player will be there to bring you all of the action in live coverage. Last year, Poorya Nazari topped a field of 1,347 players at the Atlantis Resort (pictured left) in the Bahamas to take home the top prize worth $3 million. The 2010 main event will crown a champion on Monday, Jan. 11, but it is only one part of the larger festival of poker that will take place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. The 2010 PCA schedule will feature a total of 34 events. Other highlights will include a $25,000 eight-handed no-limit hold’em high-rollers event (that will also feature live coverage), a $5,000 no-limit hold’em charity event that will benefit amFAR Aids Research, a $5,000 eight-game mixed championship, a $5,000 pot-limit Omaha championship, a $5,000 PokerStars heads-up no-limit hold’em challenge, and a $5,000 six-handed no-limit hold’em event. Levels will be 60 minutes long on day 1 and increase to 75 minutes thereafter. Participation is capped at 1,600 players. Card Player’s live coverage from the event will feature live updates, chip counts, photos, and videos from Card Player TV . The final two days of the main event will also be broadcast live on the EPT Live video feed.
