The WSOP main event is the largest POY prize of the year, and 2009 is no different. Here is a look at how many points will be awarded to each spot at the final table at the Rio Hotel and Casino: 1st — 3,600 2nd — 3,000 3rd — 2,400 4th — 1,800 5th — 1,500 6th — 1,200 7th — 900 8th — 600 9th — 300 Here is a look at the POY points that each main event final table contestant currently holds: Phil Ivey – 1,908 (pictured above right) Kevin Schaffel – 1,400 Antoine Saout – 495 Eric Buchman – 456 James Akenhead – 345 Steven Begleiter – 140 Jeff Shulman , Darvin Moon , Joe Cada – 0 Phil Ivey would jump into second place with a world-championship victory, and Kevin Schaffel would make the leap to third place. In any case, the winner of the biggest final table of the year next week in Las Vegas will jump right into the middle of the POY race, because the massive prize for first place will vault any player in the race all the way up to sixth place overall instantly. All eyes turn to Las Vegas.
