Day 1B of the PokerStars North American Poker Tour Los Angeles $5,000 no-limit hold’em main event took place today at the Bicycle Casino in Southern California. The second day-one flight attracted 373 players. Today’s field combined with the players who took the felt on Friday to create a total prize pool worth $3,229,857 and a first-place prize worth $725,000. The top 104 players will walk away with prize money in L.A. Here is a look at the payout structure:The chip leader at the end of play tonight is Kim Frederiksen with 237,000. Other notables at the top include Michael Kamran , who holds 180,000, and PokerStars player Hafiz Khan (210,200), who snuck into the top 10 late in the day. Khan doubled up close to more than 200,000 in a huge hand to end the night. There was a A 6 5 3 10 board on the table and he held 4 3 in the hole when the dust settled on the river. Ben Klier had most likely flopped a set and made the call when Khan got the last of his chips in on the turn, but the flush was too much for him to overcome and he mucked his hand. Khan navigated day 1B at a tough table that included Klier, Allen Kessler , Jon Eaton , and Eric Hershler .Despite the larger number of players in the field today the final number remaining at the end of the night was 167, close to the 147 that survived on day 1A. They will all combine tomorrow and begin the march to the money bubble. The length of levels will increase to 75 minutes tomorrow per the NAPT tournament structure.
