Date JULY 27 2022
The final table is now set at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event. A total of 22 players returned to the ballroom at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas and all eyes were set on Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker . The 2003 WSOP main event champion entered the day in second place, but a huge hand with Galen Hall saw him left short stacked and looking for help. On a board reading 10 9 6 7 4 , Hall moved all in for his last 1.75 million and after some thought, Moneymaker made the call. Hall showed top set of tens and Moneymaker mucked. Though he was able to hang around for a little over an hour, his run eventually came to an end in 11th place when he was forced to move all in with K-6 against Hall’s dominating A-6. Moneymaker was awarded $130,000 for his finish, but was undoubtedly disappointed that he couldn’t go further. Things didn’t go so well for former chip leader Ana Marquez either. Marquez went out in 10th place when her pocket eights ran into the pocket aces of former Card Player Online Player of the Year contender Chris Oliver . Oliver continued his domination when he took out Dmitry Stelmak in ninth place, boosting his stack to over 19 million in chips. His nearest competitor is Hall, who will enter the final table with just under 6 million in chips. Other notables at the final table include Sam Stein and Mike Sowers , who are both sitting in the middle of the pack. The tournament will take a day off on Friday, but will resume at 4:00 p.m. EST on Saturday and will be televised with hole cards and a one-hour, unedited delay on ESPN . Here’s a look at the chip counts. Seat 1: Mike Sowers — 3,685,000 Seat 2: Max Weinberg — 3,350,000 Seat 3: Chris Oliver — 19,670,000 Seat 4: Bolivar Palacios — 2,445,000 Seat 5: Sam Stein — 5,855,000 Seat 6: Anton Ionel — 3,520,000 Seat 7: Phiippe Plouffe — 1,555,000 Seat 8: Galen Hall — 6,430,000
