It may not be seven figures, but Erik Seidel has another win to add to his growing list of 2011 accomplishments. Seidel defeated a field of 18 at the $25,000 High Roller event at the 2011 L.A. Poker Classic , earning $144,570 and moving him into second place ahead of Phil Ivey and behind Daniel Negreanu on the all-time tournament earnings leader board. Seidel has been on fire this year, making five different final tables, scoring two wins and earning over $3.7 million. He started off by taking third in event no. 12 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and followed that up with a fourth place showing in the High Roller event. At the Aussie Millions , Seidel took third in the $100,000 Challenge and then won the $250,000 Super High Roller for $2,489,747. The field of professionals at the L.A.P.C. included notables such as Will Molson, Galen Hall, Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Zach Hyman, Rick Solomon, Masa Kagawa and Richard Lyndaker. Josh Arieh was the tournament’s bubble boy, busting in fourth place. During three-handed play a deal was struck. Shortly thereafter, a three-way all in occured and Seidel’s pocket aces were able to hold against Bertrand Grospellier’s A Q and the pocket nines of Darren Elias . With Grospellier out and Elias short stacked, it was just a matter of time before Seidel put him away. On the final hand, Elias was forced to move with 7 6 and Seidel looked him up with K 9 . The board ran out A Q Q 8 9 and Seidel earned the win. Here are the final results: 1. Erik Seidel — $144,570 2. Darren Elias — $153,975 3. Bertrand Grospellier — $146,055
