Article ID 00041262
Author Scott McDaniel
Date JULY 27 2022
Day 2 of the EPT Berlin main event has ended with the bubble bursting, leaving only 119 of the 353 players who started the day. Fabrice Soulier , of France, has catapulted himself into the chip lead with a stack of 1,079,400, which makes him the only player with more than a million in chips. Andrey Lobzhanidze was the bubble boy, and now all remaining players are guaranteed at least €7,500. The last man standing after Sunday’s final table will earn the top prize of €825,000. Still alive in that race are notable players such as Team PokerStars Pros Henrique Pinho (518,100), George Danzer (310,500), Sebastian Ruthenberg (278,800) and 2008 WSOP main event champion Peter Eastgate (301,500). The average chip stack is now 194,874. As highlighted in our day 1B recap , Roberto Romanello has been on a hot streak in recent months and although his chip stack dropped below average on day 2, he managed to stay alive and will take a stack of 149,500 into day 3. Here’s a look at the leaderboard after day 2: The action on day 2 was not kind to the previous days’ chip leaders. Day 1A chip leader Cristian Dragomir and day 1B chip leader Sander Berndsen were both eliminated. Also falling on day 2 were Team PokerStars Pros Jan Heitmann, Marcin Horecki , Johannes Strassmann , Sandra Naujoks , Arnaud Mattern and Pieter de Korver . Notables Matt Affleck , Lucien Cohen and Max Pescatori were also eliminated out of the money. Day 3 will begin at noon local time tomorrow with the final 119 players taking their seats. The goal is to play down to 24 players. You can follow along with all of the action on the PokerStars blog feed . Card Player will provide a summary of the day when play ends.
