The winner of the 2011 World Series of Poker $1,500 no-limit hold’em triple chance is 26-year-old poker pro David Diaz , who outlasted a large field of 1,340 players to take home $352,808 in prize money late Thursday evening. The childhood cancer survivor beat out late runs by established pros such as Bill Chen (4th), J.C. Tran (28th), Cliff Josephy (37th), Carlos Mortensen (40th), Ted Forrest (80th), and David Sklansky (142nd), before dueling against eventual runner up Anders Meli for the hardware and all the cash. The win brings the Tennessee resident’s career tournament earnings to nearly $800,000 Here are the elimination hands, as featured in Card Player’s live updates: Matthew Henson Eliminated in 9th Place ($25,253) Shortly after doubling through David Diaz midway through the level, Matthew Henson wouldn’t be so lucky this time around after getting it all in on a flop of K 8 2 against David Diaz for a little under 250,000.
