World Poker Tour Announces Season X Schedule
Article ID 00041134
Author Ryan Lucchesi
Date JULY 27 2022
The World Poker Tour has announced the schedule for Season X for the last half of 2011. The tour will feature 11 events before the end of the year with six international events and five tournaments in the United States. The six international destinations will take players to Slovenia, Paris, Malta, Amneville, Marrakech, and Prague. The U.S. stops will feature WPT staples the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, Bellagio in Las Vegas, and the new U.S. stop on the tour, the Orange Park Kennel Club in Jacksonville, Florida. The first tournament is the €3,300 WPT Slovenia main event that begins right on the heels of the World Series of Poker on July 17. The next tournament will then be the Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino on August 25. That first WPT main event on American soil during the new season will feature a $3,700 buy-in. One thing that jumps out about the new tour dates and tournaments is that most of the buy-ins are smaller this year. The WPT will be looking to replicate the past success that smaller buy-in tournaments like the Borgata Poker Open have had in attracting large fields with this move. Eight of the late 2011 tournaments feature buys-ins of $3,700 or €3,500 or less. There are only two $10,000 events on the first half of the schedule, at the World Poker Finals and Five Diamond World Poker Classic , and one European event with an expensive prize tag of €7,500 at the Grand Prix de Paris . Here is a look at the schedule:
